Flashlight brightness indicates the maximum light output of a flashlight, measured in lumens (lm). The higher the lumen output, the more light the flashlight produces and the larger the area it can illuminate.
How to choose the right brightness?
- Up to 300 lm — for everyday use, home, car and short distances.
- 300–1000 lm — a versatile range for EDC, hiking, camping and outdoor activities.
- 1000–3000 lm — powerful illumination for large areas, forests, camping and search tasks.
- Over 3000 lm — extremely powerful light for specialized and professional applications.
Important: maximum brightness does not always mean a longer beam distance. Beam distance also depends on the optics, beam pattern and reflector design.
